Blog EntryA few days in DallasMay 19, '08 9:26 PM
for everyone

I spent the 15th thru the 18th in Dallas for a Society of St. Vincent De Paul Regional Meeting.  The Society is a world wide lay Catholic charity which performs works for the poor.  It was an educational, inspirational weekend, where we were able to hobnob with the Society's leadership.  I learned a great deal, had fun, and a lot of fellowship.  This is a view from my hotel room, which was located in downtown Dallas.  We were within walking distance of the Cathedral, and right off of hwy 75.

I was also able to work in a visit with my cousins, and a nephew.  My cousins, brothers, one I saw at a family reunion about 5 years ago.  The other I had not seen for 30 years?  How does this happen?  We get so busy that we can't even drive a few hours to see family members.... I was so grateful that they and their wives were able to free up some time to pick me up at the hotel, spend some time together & get me back for my next workshop.  Here am I and my cousins together for the first time in many years!

I also have a nephew in Dallas, and was able to get together with he & his wife.  We had a lovely dinner together, and caught up on family and such!

This was my first time to stay in Dallas, and I really liked the downtown area.  I may come back!

How fun - I know you had a good time and contributed a great deal to those around you. It is good to share with others .... hope you made it down to the warehouse district for good food, unique buildings and sidewalk fun. K
