for everyone
A group of us met at Brackenridge for a trail ride. There is a 12 mile trail for horses. The trail just opened up this summer.

so did you like the trail? how was the ride?

The trails are great, wide enough in most places to ride 3 abreast, good footing, grass that is mowed, some rough spots, but no holes or ditches or such. Very little cover though, so on a sunny day you would be out in the heat. The scenery is nice, but very flat. You know you are in "rice country". I would go again if the weather was cool-not if it was hot.
The LL's have almost changed their name to the WW (Walking Women) {giggle} but it was a fun ride. The women were all nice and there were no fireworks!

It was a nice ride. Glad y'all could make it. I didn't even notice you were riding in Rob's old saddle LOL. Shiloh is a pretty girl!!! Venice and Annie did great for their first trail ride!!!

Glad the trail was nice and you all did find. Looks like a nice place to ride except for the rocks, would be nice if the trailers had some grass also to park on.

Yes, it was a very nice ride. There was 14 riders for Saturday. Linda B, bKoy, Haley, Tiff, Lori, Rob, Ann B, Cindy, Vencie, Terry, Cindy T, and a friend. Later Dawn, her niece, and aunt came.

Oh, yeah, Gail and Donie. There were actually more than 14.

Yeah, I was gonna point it out, but we got off on a different topic. It is my #1 saddle!
Thanks for the compliment on Shiloh. She can be a real mare though!

Sounds like it would best to ride during spring/fall/winter months, when the sun isn't too overbearing. I wouldn't want to camp there, but a day ride would be nice. I like that they are really working to make that a nice equestrian facility... cause we just can't have too many of those.

I agree, Ginger. The equestrian campsites are lacking a lot!, but the pipe stalls are convenient to the campsite, and I think they are trying to upgrade as they see usage. I heard via rumors that LNRA was disappointed in the usage, but we have had such a wet summer that they have not been open/accessible for many weekends during the summer. In addition, the fact that they close on Sun. is a hamper for me. Sundays are my "free" days.
